4th of July Dessert Recipe: Texas Sheet Cake

We’re cooking with KiKi today! McKinzie Roth’s mom shares a family favorite recipe, Texas Sheet Cake, and it’s all decked out for the July 4^th holiday.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl mix together:

• ½ teaspoon of salt
• 2 cups of sugar
• 2 cups of flour

In a large saucepan mix:

• Add 2 sticks of real butter
• 4 tablespoon cocoa
• 1 cup water

Mix in:

• ½ cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins in a cookie sheet that is greased and has sides.

Frosting Ingredients:

• 1 stick of butter
• 4 tablespoons of cocoa
• 5 tablespoons of milk
• 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Whip together. Frost the cake as soon as it comes out of oven. Then enjoy!
