4th annual Indy Burger Battle takes place on Saturday

The burger battle is on!! We get tastes from TWO restaurants this morning…. Colts Grille and Stacked Pickle, as they put the sizzle in our Indy Style Kitchen. It’s all part of the Indy Burger Battle this weekend. Here’s what you need to know:The Indy Burger Battle: A Building Tomorrow Event

Saturday, July 30th

Georgia Street, Downtown Indianapolis

1-4 p.m.

● Building Tomorrow is a non-profit organization that works to catalyze communities and individuals in support of access to quality education for students in East Africa

● Our organization envisions a world where every child with a desire to learn has a safe, permanent and local place to do so

● Organization founded in 2006

● They have 42 schools either completed or under construction

● Hope to start construction on 50th school by end of 2016

● All proceeds from event go to Building Tomorrow and our mission

● 13 competing restaurants: Between the Bun, Binkley’s, Colts Grille, Flamme Burger, Hooters, Kilroy’s, Kuma’s Corner, Punch Burger, Red Lion Grog House, Repeal Restaurant, Stacked Pickle, Teddy’s Burger Joint, and Weber Grill

● 2 beverage sponsors who will be offering a free pour: Tow Yard Brewing Company & Sun King Brewery

● Celebrity judges: Myles Turner (Pacers), Liz Biro (IndyStar), Cavan McGinsie (NUVO)

● 2 awards: Critic’s Choice & People’s Choice, both winners get a Golden Ticket to compete in the World Food Championships this November

● First year hosting event at Georgia Street, previous years held at the Rathskeller

● 1 ticket = chance to try 1 burger slider from each restaurant and a free pour from one of the breweries (only if 21+)

● Tickets are $30 online before event, $35 at the gate, $18 for children 12 and under

● Our staff and our competing restaurants have been preparing all summer!

Colt’s Grille’s Harrison Burger:

A locally sourced beef patty, blend of strip, hanger steak, and brisket paired with a roasted balsamic onion marmalade, house-made maple cured pork belly crusted in pink peppercorns with heirloom tomatoes, hydronic lettuce, and handcrafted Indiana Havarti cheese on a fresh potato bun.Stacked Pickle’s Hot Ranch Burger:

A burger patty, pepper jack cheese, bacon, topped with onion straws and drizzled with ranch dressing on a Kaiser bun.
