He’s an Oscar award-winning actor and one of the most sought after filmmakers of his generation. Actor Billy Bob Thornton chats with Tracy about the brand-new dramatic series, “Goliath.”GOLIATH
Executive Produced by David E. Kelley, Goliath stars Billy Bob Thornton, William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby and Maria Bello in the ultimate David vs. Goliath battle fought in the 21st century American legal system. The series follows a down-and-out lawyer (Thornton) as he seeks redemption. His one shot depends on getting justice in a legal system where truth has become a commodity, and the scales of justice have never been more heavily weighed toward the rich and powerful. Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton) used to be one of the most powerful attorneys in L.A., but he has since become a shell of his former self, an alcoholic in a rumpled suit. Billy’s drinking cost him his wife, Michelle, and his job after his longtime partner, Donald Cooperman, turned on him and kicked him out of their law firm. Still hanging onto his dry charisma and street smarts, Billy has an unexpected second chance at greatness as a new case pits him against his old partner.
Billy Bob Thornton has an impressive career as a writer, actor, director and musician. His recent projects have included the political themed drama Our Brand Is Crisis, opposite Sandra Bullock; The Judge opposite Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duvall; and starred in the ensemble drama Jayne Mansfield’s Car, an original script co-written by Thornton and longtime collaborator Tom Epperson for which he once again stepped behind the camera to direct. Next, he’ll reprise his role on the big screen in Bad Santa 2.
