Martinis & Motherhood
Listen up, all you mommas out there! This one’s just for you!
This morning on Indy Style, we’re talking “Martinis and Motherhood- Tales of Wonder, Woe and WTF?,” a new book celebrating those mom moments many of us have gone through that leave us clutching our hearts, shaking our heads or laughing in hilarity! Lori LeRoy is a contributing author to the book and shares how it embraces stories from moms that tell about moments that are heart-wrenching, crazy or lovely – but all that you want to savor and remember. It’s an anthology, she says. Each chapter is paired with a Martini recipe and toast to celebrate those moments.
Lori’s tale tells why infertility was the best thing that happened to me. She says her inability to get pregnant led her to the best gifts in the world – her two boys through the miracle of international adoption. Take a listen for more!
Plus, here is the recipe for the Happy Ending Martini! (For moms who never give up!)
You’ll need: 2 oz. vodka 1 oz. passion fruit mixer, A splash of sparkling water, cherry, for garnish
Method: 1. Fill a metal shaker with ice, add the vodka and passion fruit liqueur. 2. Shake and strain into your martini glass of choice. 3. Add sparkling water, garnish with a cherry.
