Man who once purchased girl posts bond with lottery winnings
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KFDX/KJTL) – A man who was sentenced in 2007 for buying a 15-year-old girl from her mother in Texas was in court today as prosecutors sought to add restrictions to his bond.
He posted that bond on November 3, reportedly after his parents bought the winning $15 million lotto jackpot ticket in Wichita Falls just a few days before.
47-year-old Jason Wayne Carlile was in the Wichita County jail awaiting trial on another charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
After he posted a bond of $100,000 Saturday, prosecutors went to court to seek modifications. The judge agreed to add new restrictions including wearing an ankle monitor and placing him on a curfew from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. until his trial.
Carlile pleaded guilty to the charge of purchase of a child in 2007 and got a three-year sentence. Authorities say he bought a 15-year-old girl from her mother for $3,000. Federal marshals found the child after reportedly tracking her to Mexico.
The mother also pleaded guilty and got three years.
Carlile also has a conviction for indecency with a child.
In 2015, he was indicted on the charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14 and is now free awaiting trial.
