A big cool down ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A warm and dry start to Wednesday morning with temperatures in the upper 60s! We should see a lot of sunshine throughout the morning and afternoon. Daytime highs will soar to the mid to upper 70s!

A powerful cold front will pass through the state late Wednesday evening, sparking up storms. We have a slight risk of severe weather in Indianapolis, while southwest Indiana has an enhanced risk. Main threats will be large hail and damaging winds. The further south you go the higher the risk of an isolated tornado. Storms will move out by midnight with lows plummeting to the 40s overnight.

Thursday will be a significantly cooler day with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Most of the day will be dry with some sun and clouds, even cool Friday with highs in the mid to upper 40s.

This weekend highs will rebound to the mid-50s with shower chances both Saturday and Sunday. Cooler than normal temperatures will continue through much of next week.
