Alyssa Milano calls MAGA hats ‘the new white hood’

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Actress and activist Alyssa Milano stirred the social media pot over the weekend after posting a controversial tweet comparing Trump supporters to KKK members. 

“The red MAGA hat is the new white hood,” Milano tweeted. “Without white boys being able to empathize with other people, humanity will continue to destroy itself. #FirstThoughtsWhenIWakeUp.”

Milano tweeted several times Saturday about the confrontation between high school students and a Native American veteran at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. the day before. Some of the students seen on camera were wearing the hats with Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.” Milano is one of the leading voices in the #MeToo movement and has been an outspoken critic of Trump, especially on social media.
