Cambridge City issues boil water order

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. (WISH) — Two western Wayne County communities are under an advisory to boil their water, a Cambridge City official said.

Clerk-Treasurer Sherry Ervin said residents are asked to rapidly boil water for drinking and cooking for at least five minutes before consumption.

The problem was not immediately clear, she said. “We’re not for certain what it is, we just know there’s pressure in the lines.”

The boil water order is in effect until 2 p.m. Saturday.

The town’s utility serves 200 customers in Cambridge City and nearby Mount Auburn.

Cambridge City is about 40 miles east of Indianapolis.
