Chilly Saturday, much warmer Sunday

Saturday morning forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A quiet weather pattern is settling in for the weekend, with quickly warming temperatures heading into Sunday afternoon.

Saturday:

High pressure is settling in and should allow for mostly sunny conditions across the area. There will still be a chilly flow from the northwest keeping us with below average temperatures. Highs will only top out in the middle 30s this afternoon.

Saturday Night:

Winds will shift overnight, allowing for temperatures to remain steady, if not rise a few degrees during the overnight hours. Lows will fall to the upper 20s.

Sunday:

A beautiful day is on tap with much warmer air moving in. Mostly sunny conditions in the morning should give way to partly to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Highs will top in the middle to upper 50s across the area.

8-Day Forecast:

An active pattern with a couple of fronts will open the work week. Expect scattered showers for Monday, and again on Tuesday. There is some question as to how far north precipitation will hang around for Wednesday. Some of our southern counties could see rain for the mid-week, but most areas should be dry. High temperatures for a majority of the week will be well above average, with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s through next weekend.
