INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Health officials continue to develop more sophisticated testing tools to confirm COVID-19 cases. 

Not only that, but tests are now being used to assess if a person who’s been infected with the coronavirus and made a full recovering and whether they’ve developed antibodies making them now immune. 

On Thursday, WISH-TV’s medical reporter, Dr. Mary Gillis, D.Ed., was on Midday to talk about passive immunity–a type of medical intervention that can slow the decline of the virus by infusing plasma from a healthy person who’s developed antibodies against the coronavirus into those currently infected in an effort to slow the decline of their condition.
