Crash closes 2 lanes of I-465 on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two left lanes of I-465 on the city’s south side are closed following a Thursday morning crash.

The incident happened on I-465 eastbound near I-65 on the south side of the city before 4 a.m.

According to crews on the scene, a car rear-ended a parked flatbed trailer, leaving the driver pinned underneath.

It took firefighters about an hour to free the male driver from underneath the trailer. The driver was said to be awake and breathing as he was taken to the hospital to be examined.

There were other injuries involved in the crash as there was a small construction crew working in the area when the crash happened.
