INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Labor Day is right around the corner, signaling the sunsetting of summer months and fall approaching. Soon after, the holiday season will be upon us.
Nelson Spade, General Manager of Circulus Digital Media, joined Daybreak to discuss what shoppers can expect this holiday season.
2020 brought a slew of new challenges for retailers and business owners looking to take advantage of holiday shopping.
“The National Retail Federation tracks consumers for key periods,” Spade said. “They actually just upgraded their forecast for the shopping season from 6.5% growth to somewhere between 10% and 13%.”
For the first time ever, the federation is predicting e-commerce will represent 20% of that overall pie.
Spade said one of the key considerations for the shopping predictions relies on the fact that there are only four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, as opposed to the regular five weeks.
