Film spotlighting Crispus Attucks High School history premieres
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A VIP screening was held in Indianapolis on Thursday evening for the documentary “Attucks, the School that Opened a City” premiered.
The red carpet and world premiere was held at the Madame CJ Walker Theater.
It was a who’s who of Crispus Attucks High School graduates in attendance, and some of them were even featured in the film.
Opera singer Angela Brown opened up the show. Sen. Joe Donnelly spoke about the importance of Crispus Attucks to the history of Indy and the state.
“As great as the basketball team, as important as it is, there is so much more to this school,” said Time Green, the film’s creator. He added that it was important to tell this story while some of the older Attucks graduates were still alive.
