Gold coin worth over $1,000 dropped in Salvation Army kettle

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)  – An anonymous donor dropped a Gold American Eagle coin into a Salvation Army red kettle Wednesday.

This is the second gold coin to be given in a week.

The coin is estimated to be worth about $1,175. It was donated at the Township Line Kroger store.

As of this Thursday, the Salvation Army is at about 25 percent of the way to its fundraising goal of $3.5 million.
