IMPD: Man badly hurt in possible accidental shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was badly hurt early Wednesday morning after what police say may have been an accidental shooting on the city’s south side, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Weaver Avenue, which is just south of Shelby Street and East Hannah Avenue.

Police haven’t said how they think the shooting happened. They say detectives were talking to people who were in the home at the time.

The man was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for treatment.
