LSC Communications acquired

CHICAGO, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — A Chicago-based print and digital media services provider with a large presence in Indiana is under new ownership. Atlas Holdings, headquartered in Connecticut, has acquired LSC Communications, though financial details of the deal are not being disclosed.

Atlas says with the support of its financial strength and sector knowledge, LSC is “positioned to continue investing in innovation and sustainable growth.”

LSC Communications, which bills itself as the largest producer of books in the country, has multiple Indiana locations, including Charlestown, Crawfordsville, Indianapolis, Plainfield, Terre Haute and Warsaw. Managing Partner Timothy Fazio calls the partnership an “ideal fit.”

“Our roots are in paper – the investment that launched Atlas more than two decades ago was the purchase of a single paper mill in Indiana,” said Fazio. “Since then, our team has developed deep sector expertise in printing, paper and adjacent industries such as packaging and paper receipts and labels. This knowledge, coupled with our proven ability to transform businesses facing challenging market environments, positions LSC for a bright future.”

Atlas says LSC’s employees will join the Atlas team. In September, LSC announced plans to close its Kendalville facility and lay off 300 workers.
