ISP: Road rage leads to shots fired on I-465

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana State Police are investigating after authorities say shots were fired on Interstate 465 Tuesday night.

According to a spokesperson for ISP Indianapolis, it started around 7 p.m. as a road rage incident on southbound I-465 at the 14.5 mile marker, near 38th Street.

Police say the suspect fired shots at the victim’s car after the victim cut off the suspect vehicle. According to ISP, the victim’s car was hit twice by bullets – once in the rear door and once in the rear taillight.

Police say there were three individuals in the victim’s car at the time of the incident. No one was injured.

Officials have described the suspect vehicle as a black Mercury Sable. The car exited off I-465 onto Rockville Road. Police have no description of the suspect.

The victim pulled over on I-465 and met with troopers. The incident is under investigation.
