Leap Day baby surprises family

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis hospital welcomed its first Leap Day baby.

Rylan Janice El was born seven pounds and one ounce at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital.

She was welcomed into the world at 12:36 a.m. Monday.

Baby and mom are happy and healthy, even though Rylan wasn’t supposed to come along for another three weeks.

Mom went ino for a routine check yesterday and the doctors said it’s time to induce.

Rylan is the El’s third child.

In all, Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital delivered four Leap Day babies.
