Investigation underway after 3 house fires intentionally set on near north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An investigation is underway after three houses were intentionally set on fire on the city’s near north side, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.

IFD crews were initially called to a fire at a residence in the 1000 block of Eugene Street just before 10:30 Wednesday evening. Crews arrived on the scene and found that the two-story residence fully involved.

Additionally, while on scene at the first fire, crews also discovered another residence, just two houses down in the 900 block of Eugene Street, on fire.

Then just minutes later, crews were called to a house fire in the area of 38th Street and North Kenwood Avenue. Crews arrived on that scene to find that structure also fully engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to get all three fires under control by 11:15 p.m.

There were no injuries reported for any of the three fires.

In all, 100 firefighters responded to and worked to extinguish the three fire.

Arson has been ruled the cause of all three house fires.
