Man beaten with mop handle after allegedly demanding eight dollars from clerk

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of demanding eight whole dollars from a convenience store clerk will need a whole lot more than that to get out of jail.

According to a criminal complaint, Anthony Jinzo walked into the Corner Store at Eubank and Central with a crowbar saying he’d hit him if he didn’t get eight dollars.

Police say that clerk beat Jinzo with a mop handle and chased him off.

Jinzo fled in what he later told police was his mom’s car before getting caught.

In court he wasn’t too happy to hear the judge give him a fifty thousand dollar bond.

According to court records Jinzo’s failed to show up for court 21 times before.
