Man charged with attempted murder in stabbing attack
BLUFFTON, Ind. (AP) – Northeastern Indiana authorities have charged a man with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his estranged wife’s grandmother in the neck and wrists.
Nestor Ivan Hernandez-Rodriguez appeared Friday before a Wells County judge who entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and set his bond at $1 million.
The Journal Gazette reports court documents say the alleged victim took Hernandez-Rodriguez into her home Monday after picking him up at an Indianapolis bus station.
Police and medics who were dispatched Tuesday to the woman’s Bluffton home about 20 miles south of Fort Wayne found her inside with life-threatening stab wounds to her neck and wrists.
Police found Hernandez-Rodriguez shortly thereafter in the area hiding near a tree, covered in blood and holding two large kitchen knives.
