Motorcyclist killed in I-69 crash
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A motorcyclist was killed in an overnight crash on I-69, according to the Indiana State Police.
Just after midnight Thursday, troopers responded to I-69 northbound near 82nd Street for a crash involving a motorcycle.
Police said the man driving the motorcycle was killed after he went underneath a semi, which resulted in a fire.
The motorcyclist has since been identified as 62-year-old Neil Holsbrook of Goshen. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
Investigators say the semi had slowed due to a mechanical issue.
The semi driver, 27-year-old Christopher Zirbel, had a disqualified commercial driver’s license. He was also cited for operating a commercial vehicle in a restricted lane for trucks with trailers.
