Police investigating after claims of attempted carjacking

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said they are investigating claims of an attempted carjacking Monday morning.

Police said a man was shot in the stomach and then drove himself to the Phillips 66 gas station at 16th and Tremont streets on the near west side.

Detectives said the man was transported to the hospital. No word on his condition at this time.
