Police: Naked teen high on cough syrup runs through park
GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A teen from Elwood was arrested after police say he was running through Riley Park in Greenfield naked and high on cough syrup on Sunday.
Police arrested Kyle Gillam, 19, on charges of public nudity, public indecency, indecent exposure and resisting law enforcement, according to 24-Hour New 8’s partners at the Greenfield Daily Reporter. Police found Gillam near the baseball fields. Games were taking place at the time.
When officers tried to arrest Gillam he put up a fight. Police had to use a stun gun three times before officers were able to arrest him.
According to court documents, Gillam was taken to Hancock Regional Hospital to be checked out. Doctors discovered he was hallucinating after overdosing on cough syrup.
Gillam was transported to the Hancock County Jail after the drugs wore off. He told police he didn’t remember what happened that day.
During his initial hearing Monday he entered a not guilty plea.
Gillam could face up to a year in jail if he is convicted. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 2.
