Purdue police investigate report of sexual assault
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) – Purdue University Police Department was investigating the report of a sexual assault from Saturday night.
Police were called to the area of Wiley Dining Court around 11:25 p.m.
An emergency alert was tweeted out telling students to avoid the area.
Detectives were out interviewing people and collecting evidence overnight. However, the case was still under investigation Sunday evening, according to Purdue University Police Chief John Cox
This is the second sexual assault reported on campus in less than a week. 20-year-old the James Rendon was taken into custody for the report of a rape at the Acacia Fraternity.
Police only had limited information about the suspects description from Saturday night. Anyone with information should contact PUPD at 765-494-8221.
