Teen found not guilty in man’s shooting death

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis teen arrested in connection to a January 2014 shooting death was found not guilty on Wednesday.

Avis Lacy was arrested on an outstanding warrant formally charging him for the murder of 34-year-old Ray Ivory of Indianapolis on Jan. 24, 2014, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

A jury found Lacy not guilty of murder, robbery and carrying a handgun without a license in connection to the shooting of Ivory. Police say Ivory was shot on Jan. 14, 2014 in the 1500 block of Cumberland Road. Police say he was brought to the 2100 block of Mitthoefer where police and EMS were called. Ivory was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition where he died the next day.

Lacy was released from custody on Wednesday.
