Tennessee Senator Bob Corker takes himself out of consideration for Trump VP spot

NASHVILLE, Tenn (WKRN) – It has been confirmed that Tennessee Senator Bob Corker has taken himself out of consideration for the position of Donald Trump’s running mate.

His office confirmed that he has not, however, taken himself out of the running for a possible cabinet position.

This announcement comes just one day after Sen. Corker joined Donald Trump at a campaign rally in North Carolina.

Many think Corker might be considered for positions like Secretary of State or Treasury Secretary.

“It speaks volumes about him and the path he has forged that he might be considered for those positions,” said Tennessee Republican Party Executive Director Brent Leatherwood.
