You got a puppy for Christmas. Now what?
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Christmas has come and gone and you’ve got a new furry member to the family. Now what do you do?
Patty Spitler was on 24-Hour News 8 at noon Thursday with some “Post-Puppy Panic Pointers.”
- Accidents will happen! – Be prepared for some uh-ohs on carpets and the floor.
- Make proper introductions – never leave the puppy alone with kids or other dogs unless you know they’re OK with it.
- Disappearing kids act – the puppy novelty wears off for the kids, so be prepared.
- Expect vocalizing – your new puppy may be crying and screaming. But they’ll be OK.
- Play, teach and bond – walking is a great time to bond with your new pup.
