‘Don’t pass me by’ – this former Beatle is coming to Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Ringo Starr announced Monday he’s continuing his sentimental journey by stopping to smell the roses right here in downtown Indianapolis.
Starr, former drummer of The Beatles and frontman of Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band, says in a release that he will be stopping by the Murat Theatre at the Old National Center on September 29 as a part of his Fall tour route, making this his first central Indiana appearance in over 30 years.
Starr, in a recent interview with Pollstar on his All Starr Band Spring tour, shared his love of touring and his love of the stage.
“Well, I love to play. I love an audience. This is a known fact. I love the audience, they love me. We have fun on tour. That’s what it’s all about. I don’t do this to be miserable. I have a lot of joy. I get a lot of joy and I just love doing it…..and I’ll be doing a lot of peace and love in your city soon. May, June, look me up!” Starr told Pollstar.
The Fall tour will also include appearances by Steve Lukather from Toto, Colin Hay from Men at Work, and more.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. September 29. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday.
