25th Annual Indy Irish Fest comes to Garfield Park
Indy’s long-running celebration of Irish culture will be full-force at this weekend’s Indy Irish Festival!
Erin O’Rourke, co-chair of Indy Irish Festival, and Jay Wetzel of Union Jack’s, joined us today with Reuben Egg Rolls and Fish & Chips to give us a taste of what we can expect at the celebration.
The event is happening Friday, September 24 & Saturday, September 25. Friday’s hours are 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday’s hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The festival will be done in full Irish-fashion featuring: live music, Irish dancers, cultural exhibits, sheep, Irish dogs and fun food and beverage options!
Organizers say this year’s festival is shorter because, “2020 threw a wrench in a lot of things. As we continue to plan optimistically and cautiously, a shorter festival is more manageable.”
There’s also a new location! To better accommodate their sheared-down event, they needed a smaller, but just as accessible outdoor space. It will now take place at Garfield Park, which organizers say is an amazing park on the near-southside of Indy.
