Unique Home Solution: Thank You Very Mulch

This is the time of year when people start putting mulch around their trees.  One of Tracy’s planting peeves is that we tend to put too much mulch up close to the tree truck.  This can promote insects and rot.  It might look pretty but it does not let the water whisk away to the roots.  Save your trees!  All you need is 2″ of mulch around your trees and make sure you have some space between the truck and the mulch…no turtle necks!
