Arrest made in Greenwood Village Pantry armed robbery

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Greenwood made an arrest in a March armed robbery on Friday.

According to police, a Village Pantry on Madison Avenue was robbed on March 19 around 12 a.m. The suspect demanded money and threatened the to kill the clerk.

Police say a firearm was not displayed, but the suspect insinuated that he had a gun on him. The clerk gave the suspect the money, which was only $89, before the unknown man fled the scene.

On Friday police received information about the suspects identity. He was identified as 38-year-old Kevin Denlaney of Bargersville. Denlaney was taken in for questioning.

During questioning Denlaney admitted to the robbery at Village Pantry, according to police. Delaney said he was battling a drug addiction and needed money.

Delaney was taken to the Johnson County Jail for the robbery and an outstanding OWI warrant out of Marion County.
