C. Indiana sees extreme heat Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Saturday’s high heat and humidity will make it feel like more than 100 degrees across Central Indiana.

A heat advisory for the entire state continues until 8 p.m.

In addition to the hot and steamy weather, there’s the risk of severe storms developing Saturday.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed Northern Indiana under an enhanced risk.

This includes Lafayette and Kokomo. Severe storms could produce tornadoes, damaging wind, and hail. Heavy rain will accompany these storms which could lead to flash flooding.

There is a slight risk for severe storms in Indy, Muncie and Terre Haute.

A few storms have already developed across Northern Indiana but have remained below severe limits. We will see stronger storms becoming more likely through late this afternoon and evening.
