Chuckhole leads Hamilton County to close bridge between Noblesville, Westfield

LATEST: The Hamilton County Highway Department on Wednesday said 161st Street has been reopened between Gray and Hazel Dell roads after a bridge was assessed and proper repairs were made.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A bridge between Noblesville and Westfield has been closed after a crew patching a chuckhole believed larger problems may be lurking, Hamilton County highway officials said Tuesday.

The 161st Street bridge over Kirkendall Creek is between Gray and Hazel Dell roads. Hamilton County Highway Department says it hopes to have an engineering crew inspect the bridge later this week.

Once the bridge has been assessed, the department will determine whether to reopen the bridge or keep it closed.
