Noblesville man arrested after IMS golf cart crash sends 4 to hospital
SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — A Noblesville man is under arrest tonight after crashing a golf cart into a group of people at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Colonious Thomas, 40, faces a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
It happened Sunday around 12:19 p.m. in Tunnel 2 of IMS, ahead of the 24th Running of the Brickyard 400.
According to a Speedway police report, Thomas hit a group of pedestrians with a golf cart inside the tunnel.
Two people hit were treated by IMS Infield Care for minor injuries, while the other four hurt were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital.
