Pink praised for response to fat comments

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Singer-songwriter Pink is getting tremendous praise for her response to people criticizing her weight.

After attending a cancer benefit last weekend, Pink says she saw comments online poking fun and calling her fat. She says they focused on a picture of her wearing a black dress on the red carpet.

Below is the tweet she posted on Sunday in response to her body-shamers:

By Tuesday morning, her message was re-tweeted more than 9,000 times and favorited by more than 22,000 people.

The singer has been known throughout the years as being “an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are,” Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and General Manager of Covergirl, said when Pink was named a spokeswoman for the company in 2012.
