Scattered showers today, cooler temperatures ahead this week
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On and off showers and storms will hang around to close out the weekend. Significantly cooler temperatures will return later this week.
Sunday:
A slow-moving cold front responsible for overnight showers and storms across the area will continue to push south through the day. As a result, expect on again, off again showers and storms – especially for the morning and early afternoon hours. By mid to late afternoon, most of the rain should move southeast of our area.
Temperatures will be running 10-15° cooler than yesterday, but still very mild. Highs finish up in the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon.
Sunday Night:
There will be a gradual clearing and cooler overnight. Lows will fall to the middle 40s.
Monday:
It will be a beautiful start to the work week with sunshine early, and clouds building for the afternoon hours. Areas south of I-70 could see a few light showers by Monday night. Highs will top out in the middle 60s.
8-Day Forecast:
Another round of showers will set up for the southern half of the state on Tuesday. Much cooler air will follow on Wednesday, as highs will struggle to reach 60° in most locations. Temperatures look to stay well below average through the end of the week and into Mother’s Day weekend. There is a possibility of frost formation Friday and Saturday morning.
