VP Pence to attend funeral of Richard Lugar
WASHINGTON (WISH) — Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, will travel to Indianapolis on Wednesday to attend the memorial service for Richard Lugar.
The former U.S. senator and Indianapolis mayor died April 28. He was 87.
The funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St. The Republican politician had served as a lay elder at the church, and his family were founding members. Pence will delivery a eulogy.
The Pences will arrive on Air Force Two at Indianapolis International Airport and will return to Washington that afternoon.
