Woman killed in Boone County crash
BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – One woman was killed in a crash in Boone County Monday afternoon.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on Interstate 74 eastbound near mile marker 52.
Police said a 2007 Ford Edge being driven by Myah Smith struck a semi that had stopped on the shoulder.
Smith’s vehicle struck the rear of the semi. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.
The driver of the semi, Jack Waterhouse, was transported to the hospital to be checked out, but police said he was unharmed.
The exact cause is still unknown. It remains under investigation.
