David’s pleasant August weather rolls on.

INDIANAPOLIS(WISH) — A few pop-up showers will be dissipating quickly this evening. Then our weather pattern settles into a comfortable mode for the first several days of August. It will be dry and both temperature and humidity will be below average for August. The August-like weather does not return until Friday. By Friday it is warmer, more humid and there could be some showers.

Tonight – Showers dissipate, skies clear and temperatures fall through the 70s down to about 60 Monday morning. Many outlying areas will be in the upper 50s Monday morning

Monday – After a cool start, we will see mostly sunny skies and the high only in the upper 70s.

Tuesday – About the same. Temperatures in the low 60s in the morning and only upper 70s in the afternoon. Still dry.

The afternoon picture from the Speedway camera shows it was another hazy day because of the smoke drifting our way from the forest fires out west.

A cold front moved south through Indiana early today. The rain shower activity just started to trigger along the front around 3:00 PM.

A line of showers developed, moved south through central Indiana and then dissipated in southern Indiana.

The cold front moved through and the wind shifted into the north to bring in some slightly cooler and less humid air for a few days.

By Monday afternoon, high pressure is controlling our weather. Quiet weather pattern and cooler northeast winds will be in place.

Average high for August 2 is still 85 but we will be several degrees below average.

8 Day Outlook – A gradual warming trend later in the week. Isolated showers are possible Friday. Back to very warm humid weather by next weekend.
