Gradual warming trend through the week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We kicked off the new work week on a nice mild note with plentiful sunshine across central Indiana.

Monday night:

A mostly clear and cool night will be on tap as we dip into the upper 40s. Be sure to grab a jacket if you are heading out for any plans.

Tuesday:

Fall officially arrives tomorrow morning at 9:30 in the morning. We will be slightly warmer and dry under mainly sunny skies. Highs will top out in the upper 70s.

Wednesday:

Another dry day will be ahead for our Wednesday as we will have a warm afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Highs will rise into the upper 70s to low 80s.

Dry September:

It should be noted that Indianapolis is currently on track to have the driest September on record as we are in the final third of the month. There have only been three days this month in which we have had measurable rainfall.

8 Day Forecast:

The gradual warming trend will continue into the final full weekend of September. We look to return to the 80s by Friday. After a lack of rain chances in the past week, isolated showers are possible Friday night. Better rain chances look to arrive through the weekend.
