3 homes go up in flames on near east side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Fire Department battled three house fires Friday morning.
According to the fire department, three house fires broke out near the 1100 block of North Hamilton Avenue, just south of Brookside Park around 3:15 a.m.
When 24-Hour News 8’s Kevin Ratermann arrived on scene, he thought it was a single house fire.
Then he realized IFD was battling two house fires.
IFD then revealed they were battling three house fires, but no one was hurt.
There were people in the homes on each side, but everybody got out safely.
The total damage is estimated at $1,100,000.
- $60,000 for main structure
- $30,000 for house to south
- $20,000 for house to north
One firefighter had a slight injury, small cut and checked on scene and released.
IFD said they will work with Victims Assistance for shelter for the families affected due to significant damage.
