AT&T launches violent crime initiative
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Telecommunications provider AT&T said Tuesday it is launching a program to help reduce violent crime in Indianapolis and make the city a better place to live.
The Believe Indy initiative will provide education and job skills programs in at-risk neighborhoods as well as offer technology advancements for local police.
AT&T is donating $184,000 to kick off the initiative. Part of that money will be used to open a local office for a nonprofit organization founded to connect police officers with local religious organizations.
