Bridge in Brown Co. closes for replacement work
BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – State Road 135 was closed Monday at 12 p.m. for a 60-day bridge replacement project.
Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) closed the highway down just south of SR 46 in Brown County to begin repairs on a bridge located at Gnaw Bone Creek in Washington Township.
The $746,792 project, being lead by Schutt-Lookabill contracting, will replace the bridge’s superstructure – which includes removing and replacing the bridge deck and rails, repairing the piers and new pavement approaches.
INDOT is rerouting traffic around the bridge via SR 46, I-65 and SR 58.
Construction is scheduled to finish April 30.
