INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — The CHS Foundation, based in Minnesota, has announced a $4 million commitment to the Indianapolis-based National FFA Organization to support teachers and agricultural education. The several-year commitment includes annual funding from CHS Inc. for several programs, including the Teach Ag campaign, focusing on retaining ag teachers and recruiting new ones.

“This year, more than ever, agricultural educators across the country have shown how to be innovative and creative,” said Molly Ball, president of the National FFA Foundation. “We are excited to see the CHS Foundation recognizes the key role our educators play in creating the next generation of leaders. This generous donation will help us continue to fund the programs that helps us inspire our FFA advisors and teachers, as well as our students.”

The Foundation says new focus areas include dedicating funding for students’ supervised agricultural experiences and state officer leadership programs.

“By supporting FFA, we are living out our purpose and creating connections with the next generation that will empower agriculture far into the future,” said Nanci Lilja, president, CHS Foundation.
