CLEAN Team nets 3 arrests, recovers heroin
KOKOMO, Ind. (WLFI) – Combined Law Enforcement Against Narcotics Team recently served warrants that resulted in three arrests and the recovery of more than nine grams of heroin, authorities said.
After a four-month investigation, the CLEAN Team arrested 32-year-old Jermaine Young, 28-year-old Suzanne Young and 35-year-old Bradley Frederick, all from Kokomo, Indiana.
Authorities stopped a Dodge Caravan, driven by Jermaine Young, on U.S. 31 near the Howard/Miami County line. Jermaine Young was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Miami County for a charge of dealing heroin. He was also driving on a suspended license.
When officers made the traffic stop, Jermaine Young threw something out of the van’s window. Officers were able to recover the item, which officers identified as about three grams of heroin. He was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant of the Youngs’ home in the Maple Lawn Trailer Court at 12948 South U.S. 31, in rural Kokomo was also executed. Officers allegedly found more than six grams of heroin and a large amount of spice.
Three children were also found in the home. They were turned over to the care of the Department of Child Services in Miami County.
When officers searched the residence, they found Frederick standing outside the home. Investigation revealed that Frederick had an active arrest warrant for a parole violation, and officers allegedly found drugs on his person.
All three were taken and booked into the Miami County Jail.
Jermaine Young face charges for dealing heroin, possession of heroin, three counts for neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance.
Suzanne Young faces criminal charges for possession of heroin, three counts for neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance.
Frederick faces criminal charges for possession of a look-a-like substance, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
