Coroner: Tenn. woman dies from lightning strike
STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Tennessee county coroner says a woman died late Thursday morning after apparently being struck by lightning.
Coroner Greg Barrow said the woman, whose identity has not been released, was camping in Dover when the tragic accident happened around 11:50 a.m.
Her husband reportedly found her under a tree at the Piney Campground in Fort Henry Road.
Medical personnel announced the 63-year-old victim dead after arriving to the scene.
Barrow confirms it appears she died due to a lightning strike, but an official autopsy will be completed to determine the cause of death.
