1 critically injured in shooting on near southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is in critical condition after a shooting on the city’s near southeast side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Just after 11:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1100 block of St. Peter Street for a report of a person shot.

Once on the scene, officers located the victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said a 35-year-old man was shot and is in surgery.

It’s unclear what lead up to the shooting.

No suspect or victim information has been released.
