PATTON, Ind. (WISH) — A Delphi man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV early Tuesday morning in Carroll County, authorities said.

Carroll County deputies were called to the area of US 421 and Carroll County Road 1100 North around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a crash. That’s just north of Patton and about two miles south of the Carroll County/White County line.

When deputies arrived to the scene they learned Kelly Dykstra, 38, of Monticello, was driving an SUV northbound on US 421 before she turned left onto County Road 1100 North. Michael Foster, 27, of Delphi, was driving a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on US 421.

The two collided and Foster was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to IU White Memorial Hospital in Monticello where he later died from his injuries.

Dykstra was also transported to the same hospital and later released.

She told deputies she did not see Foster’s motorcycle until she had already made the left turn.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
