Gates are open for IndyCar Grand Prix

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — The gates for the IndyCar Grand Prix are now open and thousands of people are expected to flock to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Saturday. 

Whether or not you have been to the event before you want to be prepared for your visit. 

The 85-lap, 2.4-mile race is set to start at 3:50 p.m. A slew of events including shorter races, driver introductions and driver q & a sessions lead up to Saturday’s main event. 

General admission tickets for the race are $35 and can be purchased here

Concerned about where you’re going to park? Free parking is offered in Lot 7 ahead of the main event. Guests should enter through Gate 10 from 30th Street to access the lot. Click here for a full parking map.

Drivers should avoid 16th Street beginning around 3 p.m. due to traffic restrictions. Traffic will also be closed to drivers between Polco and 10th streets around the same time.
